Discover the secrets of Izola

A small sea-side town with a rich history

Izola’s diverse beaches

Izola has eight diverse beaches along 5 km of coastline. One of the most beautiful is the wild beach of Bele skale, located in the Strunjan Landscape Park. Here, the sea turns a particular shade of almost azure. Younger generations will enjoy the beach below Belvedere, which is a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the city and where there is always something going on. Families will be especially happy just a few metres away, in San Simon Bay. There is a large water slide, volleyball courts, a children’s playground, etc. Right next to the beach, you can also explore the archaeological park of Islonia, where you can learn more about the stories of the Romans. The most iconic beach in Isola, where on clear days you can enjoy a view of the Alps, is Svetilnik Beach. Here you can relax in the shade of the trees or soak up the sun’s rays by the white beacon. This beach is also a favourite spot for locals.
